PRODA is a government identification system that allows access to the Health Professional Online Services (HPOS) government portal.

To access HPOS you will need an individual PRODA account to log in. Having a PRODA account, to enable log in to HPOS is beneficial if you are a:

• Health practitioner
• Administration Officer in a health service
• Practice Manager of one or several health clinics.

As a health practitioner HPOS access allows you to:

• Run reports over Medicare Bulk Billing
• Submit and monitor Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) claims
• Check eligibility for Medicare Billing Schedule and Child Dental Benefits Schedule item codes for care recipients
• Grant, monitor and revoke administration access for your health practitioner provider number (which allows reception or administration staff to monitor billing on your behalf).

As an Administration Officer or Practice Manager the health practitioner must grant you access from their individual account to enable visibility over data and billing. Reasons HPOS access may be beneficial in these positions include:

• Performing reconciliations between data uploaded to HPOS and internal client management systems
• Identifying and rectifying any data upload issues which have prevented successful claims
• Understanding of item code eligibility prior to treatment.
