The Victorian ‘Solar for Business Program’ offers Victorian businesses the opportunity to access the benefits of renewable energy and reduce their ongoing energy costs.

The program is designed to reduce the upfront cost of solar installation for approved solar PC systems of up to 30kW capacity.

The current available rebate is 50% of the eligible rooftop solar system cost, with a maximum rebate of $3,500.

Example:
Cost of system: $3,000 Rebate: $1,500
Cost of system: $10,000 Rebate: $3,500

The program has a total allocation of 5,000 rebate allocations and at time of publishing, there are almost 3,000 remaining.

Once the allocation is exhausted, the program will cap all additional rebates at $1,750.

Eligibility

Your organisation may be eligible for the rebate if your business:

• employees 1-50 people (not including the business owner)
• operates from a non-residential premise
• premise is individually metered
• has not previously received a Solar for Business rebate.

Systems must:

• be installed an approved retailer
• have an inverter capacity of up to 30kW
• be on the Solar Victoria approved product list.

Applications cannot be backdated for systems installed prior to program commencement (28 May 2021).

If your home is your main place of work, consider the Solar Homes rebate.

In addition, interest-free loans ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 are available in 12 or 24 month terms. Loan amount is based on the quotation provided to Solar Victoria for solar installation and can be paid off prior to end term.
