Last year MYOB announced that AccountEdge would no longer be supported, and won’t be compatible with Apple’s newer operating systems from 1 April 2022.
Users holding an AccountEdge subscription plan/MYOB Cover Membership will receive a final compliance update in June 2022, however the update will not include changes to Payroll Reporting (STP Phase 2).
AccountEdge users will still be able to access their file and continue to use AccountEdge after 1 April 2022, but with no future compliancy updates or support to the software, it is prime time to consider upgrading.

MYOB Business is a browser-based platform, which will allow users to manage their accounts anywhere, anytime including on a mobile device, MAC OS or Windows OS. Users would be able to manage accounts, generate sales and purchases, prepare and process pays, and much more.
Note: Multi-currency, inventory, categories, and time-billing features are currently not available in MYOB Essentials.
AccountRight is a browser-based platform that allows more complex tasks to be completed via a corresponding Windows desktop application. This will be the most suited product for the majority of users that wish to use more complex features such as multi-currency, inventory, categories and time-billing features in their product. These complex features are available in the Windows desktop application.
Note: AccountRight is a Windows-based product that allows for files to be stored in the cloud to be accessed via an Internet browser including a MAC OS X browser. A Windows PC would be required for company file maintenance.
