ATO now following up STP Phase 2
The ATO is now following up Single Touch Payroll (STP) Phase 2 compliance now that the deferral dates have ended for most software.
We recommend you review your software to ensure it is set up to be STP Phase 2 compliant and you are meeting the ATO lodgement requirements.

The following information has been released for specific accounting software programs:
Xero
Xero users received a deferral date of 31 March 2023 to ensure compliance by this date.
Xero has released a STP phase 2 portal which can be accessed through the Payroll tab.
Please work through the check list provided in the portal to update the necessary data.

Intuit Quickbooks (QBO)
QBO users have been required to be STP Phase 2 compliant since 1 March 2022.

MYOB
MYOB users received an automatic STP Phase 2 deferral until 1 January 2023. Users are now expected to be STP compliant.

Reckon
Reckon has been successful in receiving a deferral date of 30 June 2023 to be STP compliant.
The STP Phase 2 updates will be included in the 2023 annual tax update. For Reckon Desktop this will need to be downloaded and installed, for Reckon Hosted this will happen after completing the annual rollover.
More specific instructions on upgrading to STP Phase 2 will be released by Reckon closer to the date.
If you are contacted by ATO about your transition to STP Phase 2 simply provide them with the Deferral Reference Number: 85 627 150 which applies to all Reckon Payroll products.
