At the MYOB Roadshow the following topics were covered:
- MYOB Live
- MYOB Portal
- MYOB PayDirect
A lot of clients are still using old versions of MYOB, and missing out on opportunities to enhance their MYOB experience by upgrading to cloud software.
By moving to the cloud, both the client and accountant have real time access to records, which enables a more efficient process. ‘Going live’ also allows for Banklink to stream live data into the MYOB file, allowing for quicker reconciling and ensuring no transactions are missed.
MYOB Live will have an app which is available on all devices. As it is cloud software, all information will be kept on the cloud and not in the mobile device to ensure security of information. This new app means that our clients will be able to send invoices from the device while on the go, and check real time information while away from the office.
The MYOB Portal will allow for documents to be sent directly through the MYOB document manager – allowing you to send documents securely, without having to export to different programs. Every time a document is sent through the portal a notification will appear for the client to access.
The portal will be integrated with the ATO which will allow for documents to be signed and lodged electronically, even from a mobile device.
MYOB has released a PayDirect system that allows for card transactions to be processed using your mobile device. By connecting the reader to your phone using Bluetooth, you can process a payment through your MYOB Live account and email receipts to customers on the spot.
This allows for payments to be made faster which improves the business cashflow. The reader costs $199 +GST up front.
Essentially MYOB and encouraging their clients to upgrade to a ‘live’ account, so clients can take advantage of bank feeds and live access via the cloud.
